Kevin was a visionary, community activist/volunteer, astute businessman and compassion friend. He described himself as an environmentalist and conservationist first and a developer second.

When asked about his community service, Kevin stated, "What I do from nine-to-five pales in significance to what I do the other 16 hours of the day. I treat business as a game. It's an important game, but it's a game."

Kevin built a solid company of strong principles and integrity and it is in this manner that his vision will continue in The Adams Companies.

He served as chairman of the board of directors of Edgehill Recover Retreat Center and of Celebrating Patsy Cline, Inc. He served on the boards of directors for the AIDS Response Effort, the Salvation Army, Shalom et Benedictus, and the Blue Ridge Board of Realtors. He was a member Industrial Parks Authority, the Community Consensus Coalition, Preservation of Historic Winchester, and the Winchester Democratic Committee. He also served as a task force member for the Winchester-Frederick County Citizens Water & Sewer Committee and the Downtown Development Board Visioning Task Force.

Kevin was a bird watching guide for Sky Meadows State Park and an avid nature photographer.
